On 10 October 2026, Consul-General Dr SUN Zhaoyang visited Chinese national lacrosse team participating in the 2026 Asia-Pacific Sixes Lacrosse Championship in Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. On behalf of Ambassador Liu Jinsong, Dr SUN commended and encouraged the team for their resilience, determination and perseverance in completing on the world stage. He noted that their achievements had been hard-earned and expressed confidence that their continued dedication and hard work would lead to even greater success. Dr SUN cheered on the team members, encouraging them to strive for even greater achievements.

Dr SUN also met with Mr Warren Allderige, President of the Asia Pacific Lacrosse Union, and Vice President Mr Albert Lai, who congratulated the Chinese lacrosse team on their breakthrough. Consul Mr Zhang Xianfeng and Vice Consul Ms Sun Ruoxi also attended the meeting.
