Consul-General Dr RUAN Zongze attends 2026 International Chinese Language Day event

On 23 April 2026, the Chinese Consulate-General in Brisbane held 2026 International Chinese Language Day event. Consul-General Dr Ruan Zongze attended and delivered a keynote speech. Deputy Consul-General Ms Li Suyun hosted the event, and over 60 people participated, including representatives of Australia China Friendship Society Queensland, Department of Education International Queensland, and others from all walks of life.

Dr Ruan stated that Chinese serves as a bridge of friendship between the people of China and Australia, and welcomed Australian friends to take advantage of the visa-free opportunity and visit China more often, gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and contemporary China, and become friendly envoys between the two countries.

Mr Barnaart, a recipient of the Chinese Government Friendship Award, and Ms Hong Liu, Vice president of Australia China Friendship Society Queensland, thanked the Consulate-General for its continuous support for Chinese language education. They expressed that learning Chinese is an important way to promote exchanges between China and Australia, and hoped that Chinese language education will continue to develop in a positive direction. There were performances showcasing Chinese outstanding traditional culture, and the atmosphere was cheerful and friendly.
