On 6 November 2025, Consul-General of China in Brisbane Dr Ruan Zongze met with the Commissioner of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) Steve Gollschewski.

Dr Ruan appreciates the support and cooperation provided by QPS when Chinese Consulate-General conducts the consular assistance, and wishes to strengthen the communication and collaboration with QPS to safeguard the safety and legitimate rights of Chinese nationals in Queensland.

Commissioner Gollschewski says that QPS attached great importance to the safety of Chinese nationals in Queensland, and will continue to keep good communication with Chinese Consulate-General to take effective measures to safeguard the safety and legitimate rights of Chinese nationals in Queensland.
