On 21 August 2023, Consul-General Dr RUAN Zongze was invited to address at University of Queensland Global Chinese Alumni Association Launch Event.

Dr RUAN congratulated the official launch of UQGCAA, and expressed appreciation to UQ for its positive contribution to the mutually beneficial cooperation in education, science and technology between China and Australia for years. He believes that the Chinese alumni of UQ will continue to play an active role as a bridge and link between China and Australia for a better future. 

Chancellor of UQ Mr Peter Varghese AO , Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Deborah Terry AO, Minister for Tourism, Innovation and Sport and Minister Assisting the Premier on Olympics and Paralympics Sport and Engagement the Honourable Stirling Hinchcliffe MP, the Lord Mayor of Brisbane Councillor Adrian Schrinner, President and Vice-Chancellor of The University of Surrey, Honorary Chair of the UQGCAA Advisory Board Emeritus Professor Max Lu AO DL, and more than 100 Chinese scholars and student representatives of UQ attended the event.
