Dr RUAN Zongze

Consul-General of the People's Republic of China in Brisbane

On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, on behalf of the Chinese Consulate-General in Brisbane, I extend the warm festive greetings and best wishes to overseas Chinese, Chinese students, staff members of Chinese companies and friends from all walks of life in Queensland.

For the past 73 years, under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, Chinese people has endeavored to embark on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. China’s comprehensive national strength and international influence and people’s lives have been greatly improved.

The Communist Party of China has united and led Chinese people of all ethnic groups to achieve the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, bringing about a historic resolution to the problem of absolute poverty in China.  Now China, with one-fifth of the world population, is marching with heads held high and in giant strides to modernization, which is of far-reaching world significance. China’s development will benefit not only Chinese people, but also the whole world. China has continuously contributed more than 30% to the world’s economic growth for many years and created opportunities for the world.

China has always been a force for world peace, a contributor to global development, a defender of the international order, a provider of public goods and a mediator of hotspot issues. As the largest developing country, China will stick to the path of peaceful development, build a new type of international relations, make efforts to improve global governance and promote a community with a shared future for mankind.

With major changes and a global pandemic unseen in a century, China will open up even wider and be committed to a green and low-carbon development path that gives priority to ecological conservation. In October this Autumn, the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will be held in Beijing, providing a grand and comprehensive blueprint for China’s future development.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Australia. The two countries have extensive common interests and no historical grievances or fundamental conflict of interests. We hope Australia will work with China in the spirit of mutual respect and mutual benefit to promote the sound and steady development of China-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership.

I would like to take this opportunity to send my gratitude to friends of all circles for your long-term care and support to the development of China-Australia and China-Queensland relations. The relationship between China and Queensland is an important component of China-Australia relations and have made great progress with efforts from both sides. The Consulate-General wishes to enhance communication and cooperation with all circles in Queensland to deepen the friendship between Chinese and Australian people, contributing to the development of China-Australia relations.

The overseas Chinese in Queensland have made significant contributions to Queensland socio-economic development and multiculturalism, cared about and supported China’s development, and played a role of bridge and tie in furthering China-Australia, China Queensland friendship. We will actively practice the principle of diplomacy for the people, take a good care of the well-being of overseas Chinese and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests. It is our hope that the Chinese community will continue your efforts to deepen the China-Australia friendship.

Wish our great motherland prosperous, China-Australia friendship long-lasting and my dear compatriots healthy and happy!
