Consul-General Dr RUAN Zongze Calls on the Acting CEO of Trade and Investment Queensland Mr Richard Watson

On August 12th, Consul-General Dr RUAN Zongze paid a courtesy call to the Acting CEO of Trade and Investment Queensland Mr. Richard Watson.

Dr Ruan said, TIQ and the Consulate General have maintained a good and smooth working relationship in economic and trade exchanges, which has played an important role in the trade and investment cooperation between enterprises of both sides. Enterprises from China have been deeply involved in Queensland for many years, actively integrated into the community, and contributed to local employment and taxation. It is hoped that Queensland government will continue to provide a fair and open business environment for Chinese enterprises. Consul General Ruan also introduced the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China's achievements in economic development, poverty alleviation, opening-up and epidemic prevention policies. 

Mr Watson welcomed Dr Ruan to take his post. He said, TIQ is willing to work together with the Chinese Consulate General. This year is the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Australia. TIQ wish to take full advantage of the good relationship with the Consulate General as well as sister cities in China to promote practical cooperation in various fields such as economy, trade, Olympics, etc. 

Elton Miller, General Manager of TIQ Queensland Operations, Toni Brownie, General Manager of International Operations, Bryony Hilless, Executive Director of Study Queensland were also at the meeting.
