On 4 September 2023，Chinese Consul-General in Brisbane Dr RUAN Zongze met with Vice-Chancellor and President of Queensland University of Technology(QUT) Professor Margaret Sheil AO. They exchanged views on China-Australia educational cooperation and students security.

Dr RUAN said, it's great to learn that Professor Sheil will visit China. China is open to strengthening cooperation in education and research with Australia. We appreciated QUT's  support for overseas Chinese students. The Consulate-General is willing to continue to cooperate with QUT on the safety of Chinese students.

Professor Sheil expressed her expectation to consolidate and expand scientific research cooperation and educational exchanges with Chinese partners through her visit to China. QUT will continue to provide support and services for Chinese students.

Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research) Distinguished Professor Christopher Barner-Kowollik, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic) Professor Robina Xavier, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President Professor Scott Sheppard from QUT, Consul LI Mingsi were present.
