Consul-General Dr Ruan Zongze attends the Reception of Parliamentary Friends of People’s Republic of China

On 24 August 2023, Consul-General Dr Ruan Zongze was invited to attend and deliver a speech at the Reception of Parliamentary Friends of People’s Republic of China held in the Queensland Parliament.

Consul-General Dr Ruan said, holding the Reception reflects the good will of Queensland and its people to develop relations with China, as well as the recognition of Queensland’s multicultural society for the contribution of Chinese community. The overseas Chinese in Queensland have played an important role in promoting local economic and social development and enhancing friendly cooperation between China and Australia. The Chinese Consulate-General welcomes more members of parliament and friends of various sectors to visit China to enhance mutual understanding and friendship, to explore new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, education, science and technology, and to write a new chapter of mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of the two peoples.

Consul-General Dr Ruan met with Queensland Premier Hon Annastacia Palaszczuk before the Reception.

The Reception of Parliamentary Friends of People’s Republic of China is hosted by Queensland Parliament "Friends of China" Mr Peter Russo MP and Mr John-Paul Langbroek MP and organized by the Australia China Cultural and Economic Promotion Association and the Queensland Chinese United Council. It has been held for three sessions. Deputy Consul-General Yang Chenqi, Deputy Consul-General Li Suyun, nearly 200 Queensland MPs, overseas Chinese leaders, and business professionals participated in this event.
