Chinese Consul-General Dr RUAN Zongze meets with Vice-Chancellor and President of Griffith University Professor Carolyn Evans

On 22 August 2023,Chinese Consul-General in Brisbane Dr RUAN Zongze met with Vice-Chancellor and President of Griffith University Professor Carolyn Evans. They exchanged views on China-Australia relations, educational cooperation and students security.

Dr RUAN said, with the joint efforts of both sides, China-Australia relations have stabilized and improved, and dialogues and exchanges in various fields and at all levels have been increasing. Strengthening the exchanges and cooperation in education and research is win-win for both sides and plays an important role in promoting the sustained and stable development of bilateral relations. Chinese Consulate-General will support GU in consolidating and expanding cooperation with Chinese partners.

Professor Evans said, GU attaches great importance to cooperation with Chinese universities. She plans to visit China in the near future to promote more research cooperation and people exchanges, and is willing to work with Chinese Consulate-General to provide more supports and services for overseas Chinese students.

Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) Professor Lee Smith, Pro Vice Chancellor (Business) Professor Caitlin Byrne, Professor Kai He and Professor Sacha Reid from GU, Consul LI Mingsi and Consul SHI Wenhua were present.
