Consul-General Dr Ruan Zongze meets with Queensland State MPs

On 22 April, 2025, Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Brisbane Dr Ruan Zongze met with Queensland State Members of Parliament Mark Furner and Peter Russo for a friendly exchange. Consul Mr Wang Lin was present.

Dr Ruan expressed appreciation to the MPs for their contributions to promoting China-Australia friendship and supporting the development of the Chinese community. Dr Ruan elaborated the Chinese position on firmly opposing the United States’ abuse of tariff measures. The longstanding, mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Australia serves as a compelling testament to the fact that free trade and international collaboration yield shared benefits for all. Dr Ruan expressed the hope that China-Australia relations would maintain a steady course and achieve even greater progress.

The MPs affirmed that the improvement in Australia–China relations has delivered tangible benefits to the local community and hoped for continued stability and development in bilateral ties.
